Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since the power generation efficiency of organic photovoltanic (OPV) cells is lower than conventional Si solar cells, OPV cells has not been put to practical use. In order to improve the efficiency, we have tried to increase the interface area between a p-type layer of pentacene and n-type layer of C60 by using a UV-patterning method. The method is applied to an organic conducting buffer layer and the surface roughness (interface roughness) is controlled, resulting in improving the efficiency of OPV cells. We also introduce a photocatalyst material to the method, and the effect on the efficiency is demonstrated.
