Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, in air traffic control, some technologies that distribute aircraft onboard parameters by transponder s are under development. For example, one of the technologies is ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance -Broadcast) that measures aircraft positions and speeds by GPS and that broadcasts the information through radio transmission medium, other one is DAPs (Downlink Aircraft Parameters) that downlink aircraft parameters requested by SSR Mode S ground station. these new technologies is expected to enhance the safety and efficiency of air traffic management. To design new applications and systems, it is necessary to know how many aircraft and how many types of parameters are available from real transponders. In this paper, we analyze Mode S transponders datalink capabilities and show the result of analysis.
