Abstract(in English) | As operating frequency of electronic devices have become higher recently, electromagnetic noise over GHz frequency may become a problem. Though metal shield structure is also effective over GHz frequency, noise leakage may occur because of its imperfect sealing caused by voids of ventilating holes or door structure for example. Usually, conductive metal gaskets are applied and effective to suppress the noise leakage, however, realizing high contact pressure and degradation by repeated open-close operation often become problems. In this paper, built-in arrayed SIW (Substrate Integrated Waveguide) resonators is proposed as a shield structure against electromagnetic noise propagating in voids of a metal shield structure. SIW resonator, which consists of conductive metal patterns and via holes, is kind of a cavity resonator configured in a dielectric substrate, and is widely used in microwave filter technology. Proposing shield structure consists of arrayed SIW resonators placed on inner walls of the void and wide-band shield effect is realized at the resonant frequencies of the SIW resonators. The structure is superior to degradation by repeated open-close operation, since its structure is contactless. Prototype structure is designed using FR-4 substrate for shielding 12-16 GHz electromagnetic noise propagating void of 200×3 mm^2 aperture size and 60 mm length, and measured results showed more than 25 dB shield effect at the designed frequency band. |
