Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, a lightning that directly strikes high-rise buildings and structures such as wind turbines or antenna towers usually causes the lightning damage to telecommunication access installations adjacent to such structures. As the damage in the overhead installations, the discharge and melt damage to a telecommunication cable connection in a splicing closure, the damage to a messenger wires, and a detachment of a concrete from surface of concrete pole are reported. The damage to telecommunication installations due to the lightning strikes may lead to interruptions in telecommunication services. Accordingly, the mitigations against lightning are an important challenge that requires further study. In this paper, the damage example of the various overhead telecommunication installations due to the lightning is shown, and the damage mechanism of the overhead telecommunication installations is solved. Furthermore, the proposal toward an improvement of surge protects in the telecommunication installations and the result of estimation experiment is shown. These proposal aims establishment of a construction method to the telecommunication installations. Finally, based on these results, a subject towards the mitigation against lightning in the telecommunication access installations is shown, and the mitigation against lightning in the future telecommunication access installations is viewed.
