Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) People with visual impairment always might knock up against dangerous obstacles while walking, because they cannot visually get the situation. Furthermore, Accidents which they fall down at uneven walking paths or they drop at end railway platforms, have often occurred. Therefore, electronic white canes which have sensors and provide visually impaired persons with obstacle information, have been developed. We've proposed the method that detects uneven steps and approach of people using smartphones while walking by using electronic white canes and mobile terminals.
