Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of this research was to estimate the consumer preferences for vegetables based on investigation of product reviews on online shopping. Weighted term frequencies in product reviews indicated that consumers were concerned about brand names (including varieties), growing districts, risk-related issues, and functional qualities, and that their preferences were different among vegetables. Comparison between product reviews and their descriptions was suggested that product information provided by distributors was greatly influenced the consumer choice of vegetables. Estimated consumer preferences for vegetables in this research will help to determine the product description to attract consumers.
