Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, using surface EMG the research on motion recognition towards the application for artificial arm has been increasing. Almost all the researchers employ the electrode with less number of channel that results in the narrow measurement range. However, the influence of displacement during motion due to under the skin, may not be confirmed the relevant information measured by surface EMG. In this study, comparing conventional 2-bar electrodes in many studies with the 64ch matrix electrodes that measure over a wider range, the performance of motion recognition from the surface EMG signals in the basic operation of the forearm was discussed in terms of the recognition rate. Moreover, the matrix electrodes were confirmed whether or not it could be applicable for motion recognition. The result showed, the effect of matrix electrodes in the study of motion recognition.
