Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) EOG-based character input interface controlled by eye movements was developed to support communications of disabled individuals with motor paralysis. Horizontal and vertical EOG signals were measured using two electrodes attached above and beside the dominant eye referring to an earlobe electrode and amplified with AC-coupling. We distinguished ten kinds of eye movements such as up, down, left, right, upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right, conscious eye blink and reflex eye blink. Experiments were performed by supposing a person who uses a tablet device with small display at a short distance.
