Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Gold nanoparticles, which have various unique properties because of their smallness unlike bulky materials, are currently studied for the application to electronic devices, such as solar cells, sensors, and transistors. In our research, fabrication of the sensing devices based on the responsiviry of gold nanoparticles to the change of their environment was performed. The targets of sensing are volatile organic compounds, which causes odors. The research about the principles of nanogap formation of nanogap electrodes was also conducted, because the insufficient reproducibility of nanogap formation was the biggest obstacle in our study. At last, the scheme of further functionalization of these sensing devices is mentioned.
