Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of the present study is to develop an accessible electronic musical instrument "Cymis" for visually impaired persons to play and enjoy by pointing a touch panel. It is significant characteristics of Cymis that pre-programmed music scores are stored in the computer. Preparatory experiments of performing Cymis were done where the sight of both eyes of non-visually impaired subjects was decreased almost to 0.005 by covering eyes with a cloth. It was found that persons without visual dysfunctions could play Cymis properly with the user interfaces.
