Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) NIRS (near infrared spectroscopy) is an optical technique to assess oxygen dynamics in tissues. We have developed a microcomputer based wearable NIRS system (swNIRS). Motion-free NIRS measurements were carried out in lower limb muscles during descending/ascending stairs in human subjects to demonstrate significant effects of the muscle pump in the oxygen dynamics.
