Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed a method to improve the detection sensitivity for the magnetization M of magnetic nanoparticles (MNP). The M response of MNP was systematically analyzed and experimentally proven. A high sensitive device, HTS-SQUID magnetometer was applied to the MPI. The M response of MNP to an applied magnetic field H(M-H characteristics) could be divided into a linear region and a saturation region, which are separated at a knee field H_k. When applying an excitation AC magnetic field (H_) and an additional DC bias field (H_), the second harmonic of M reaches the maximum at a knee point due to the nonlinearity of the M-H characteristics. The advantage of the use the second harmonic response is that the response can be taken for small H_. It is 7 times larger than a third harmonic. Then we could successfully demonstrate the 1D image of two separated bottle-shaped phantom filled with MNP using a lock-in amplifier.
