Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In a system obtaining environmental information by sensors mounted on vehicles and collecting the information to the data center by means of wireless multihop transmission between the vehicles, the data delivery delay can be reduced and the data delivery rate can be improved by the use of base stations. This paper shows that the packet delivery ratio is improved, by controlling the communication distance between a vehicle and a base station as well as between a pair of vehicles. It is further shown that the packet delivery delay can be reduced and the packet delivery rate can be improved by introducing packet retransmission functionality between base stations.
