Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Outdoor use of wireless LAN systems is gaining popularity in data offloading services. W56 band is only allowed for use without frequency licensing in outdoor deployment of wireless LAN systems. We have studied wireless backhaul as a vital solution to expand area coverage by wirelessly connecting many small cell base stations, such as wireless LAN APs, and developed a high performance wireless backhaul protocol suite with capability of more than 10 hops. In order to permit W56 band in wireless backhaul radios, adoption of DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) becomes an issue because channel in the band must be changed if radio system detects radar signals within the channel. In this paper, enhancement of the wireless backhaul protocol is considered to render it work in W56 band.
