Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wireless LAN (WLAN) access points (APs) are being installed densely in urban areas as a means of offering a low-cost and high-speed access to the Internet for mobile communication terminals such as smartphones. Most of these APs have possibilities for users to degrade the quality of experience (QoE) because APs are basically installed without optimization for users on the move. Especially on a train, users' QoE would be degraded severely because a communication quality of WLAN becomes lower and duration of AP connectivity becomes shorter. Based on this observation, we have investigated the impacts to QoE quantitatively posed by unstable access to WLAN for users on the move with a train. To prevent the severe impact to QoE posed by the mobility, we investigate advantages of the method to control of WLAN access based on the mobility of users.
