Abstract(in English) Delay-/Disruption-Tolerant Network (DTN) has received more attentions as an expected solution in environments where it is difficult to provide the stable and continuous Internet connection. Although many routing protocols and architectures have been proposed based on mathematical analysis and simulations so far, implementations of DTN are indispensable to actually deploy DTNs in the real environment. At present, DTN2 and IBR-DTN are provided as the major reference implementations. DTN2 is based on the standard of DTN implementation, while IBR-DTN is implemented as a lightweight DTN implementation. In opportunistic communication of DTN, the performance of data communication is highly significant to design new applications and architectures. This paper presents a comparative performance evaluation for file transmission of DTN2 and IBR-DTN. The empirical results include total file transmission time and CPU utilization. The results showed that DTN2 has better transmission performance in the analyzed scenario. On the other hand, IBR-DTN had lower CPU utilization and lower memory consumption for big files.
