Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The miniaturized branch-line coupler (BC) circuits were designed onto LiNbO_3 substrates by two methods of using periodically installed open circuit stabs and installed series capacitance. Compared with a conventional BC, these miniaturized BC were reduced by about 50% and also showed the operations as the 90 degree hybrid around the center frequency. As these couples were directly designated onto each electro-optic modulator substrate, we fabricated compact modulators of the single signal operation. In the experiment, the input light of 1550nm wavelength was entered, the optical SSB signal with the sideband suppression ratio of about 30dB was observed.
