Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Breathe sensing system incorporating waveguide gas-cell has been researched as handy and daily breath-check equipment. One critical issue for realizing high-sensitivity has been its high propagation loss. Thus, we propose to utilize silica high-mesa waveguide for the waveguide structure for low propagation loss. However, there has been less experimental proof that a certain portion of the propagation light profiled-out from the waveguide that contributed to infrared absorption sensing so far. In this paper, we demonstrate the experimental proof that a certain portion of the propagation light profiles out on actually fabricated silica high-mesa waveguide for the first time.
