Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have proposed a hybrid-resolution spectral imaging method, which produces spectral images of high-resolution efficiently by combining low-resolution spectral data and high-resolution RGB images. In this paper, we introduce a real-time spectral video system based on this approach, using a high-resolution RGB camera and a low-resolution spectrum sensor. The system can reproduce high-fidelity color images under arbitrary light source by the technique of spectrum-based color reproduction, as well as narrow-band spectral images of arbitrary single-wavelength. As an example, the spectral image of a palm was captured and the spectral absorption characteristics of hemoglobin was observed. It was also demonstrated that the patterns of vein were well visualized, while such patterns were difficult to be identified from conventional RGB images.
