Broadband PMD/PDL Vector Emulator using Spatial Light Modulators

Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose a broadband arbitrary transfer-function matrix generator using spatial light modulators (SLM). The proposed method can generate arbitrary broadband linear transfer-function matrix. The all control parameters can be obtained analytically from the arbitrary transmission model. We describe the theory, the practical implementation, and the parameter decision method. To verify the performances of the proposed method, we conduct numerical simulations for broadband PMD/PDL vector generation. The limitation of the generator is the frequency resolution 8f of the SLMs. We also discuss the limitation based on the Nyquist-Shannon sampling-theorem.
