Abstract(in English) Flexible spectrum optical transport components enable increased spectral efficiency in optical communication systems, and allow networks to adapt to evolving transmission technologies. We review recent advances in flexible spectrum wavelength selective switch (WSS) and optical channel monitor (OCM) technologies and applications.
