Evaluation of Gathering Data in DTN Sensor Network System Using Autonomous Air Vehicle

Abstract(in English) While the sensor network for ecology and environment observation becomes more important, collecting those data becomes a problem. It is because the observation field is often wide, and may be in a forest or on a mountain, where a traditional road-transportation cannot move easily to collect sensor data. Thus, we propose a DTN-based sensor network system for automatically collecting data on the observation field using an autonomous air vehicle as a data ferry. In this paper, we propose a method for synchronizing data between the sensor node and the server through a delay device, and an algorithm for the autonomous flight of the air vehicle. Experiments have been performed to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed system. From the result, it can be clarified that the proposed data synchronization can be completed by our system. However the autonomous flight is still unstable so it needs to be improved.
