Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have proposed and studied parallel transmission systems using fiber-ribbons for a purpose of ultra-high-speed network in future. In this report, we focus on multiniode fiber-ribbons (MMF) for a use of short distance transmission such as local area networks (LANs). In real environment, non-uniform stress may be applied to a fiber-ribbons and it effect on group delay variations. So far, we neglect mode dependence of MMF in the investigation of group delay variations. We study the mode dependence theoretically and experimentally.
