Abstract(in English) | We measured the visible luminescence, under various conditions, some kind of metal doping silica based thin films on a silica substrate. The films were made up of Ge, Ti, Sn, and Cu. The film thickness of these samples was about 4μm. We used UV irradiation (wavelength: 254 nm) to cause the luminescence. The luminescent color changed depending on the doping material. The luminescence colors by UV irradiation were blue, pale-blue, and pale orange, for Ge:Si0_2, Ti:Si0_2, and Sn:Si02 films, respectively. Further investigation of the silica based film of tetravalent metal doping will likely lead to a new optical material. |
