Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Superconducting detectors are promising for next-generation ion detectors for time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOF MS). They can achieve a mass-independent detection efficiency even for macromolecules because output pulses are produced through the deposited kinetic energy of tens of key at ion impact. Among the superconducting detectors, superconducting nano-strip ion detectors (SSIDs) which consist of superconducting strips have a fast response time of ~ns, and we have succeeded in realizing the large detection area without degrading the response time by the parallel configuration of superconducting strips. In this study, the principle of SSIDs and the detecting properties of the parallel-configured SSID will be summarized.
