Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A mechanism called Flow cache, which classifies packets into flows and caches the results of header rewrite that is equal in same flow for achieving high-speed packet processing is proposed. When we consider a memory size of the flow cache, the number of entry of the flow cache must be small because the tag and data are bigger unlike general processor caches. We proposed and evaluated port separate cache mechanism which assigns packets of each application groups to distinct caches and controls each cache optimally to improve the cache-miss. We proved that the cache-miss was improved by 2.7% by using port separate cache mechanism and some cache algorithms could be applied more effective than the conventional cache.
