Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Magneto encephalography (MEG) has been used for examining the brain activity recognizing the solutions in the processes when humans solve problems despite the limitations of the region and spatial resolution caused by the type and number of neurons. For this reason, we studied about the quantification of the cognitive status and the activation state of the brain by measuring the brain potentials with an Electroencephalograph (EEG) and analyzing the complexity of the electroencephalogram (EEG ) by using fractal method. We tested the differences of the EEG between when the subjects played the game requiring reasoning (insight-requiring game) and when the subjects played the game not requiring reasoning (insight-free game). According to the results obtained by the quantification of the cognitive status , we confirmed that the cognitive status continued for longer time when the subjects played the game requiring reasoning ( insight-requiring game), and the results obtained by measuring the brain potentials of activation state, we confirmed tendencies to be higher activation state when the subjects played the game requiring reasoning (insight-requiring game) at Anterior Cingulate Gyrus. The result shows that the cognitive state of humans may be estimated by the fractal analysis of EEGs.
