Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The act of chewing have been described as to activate the human's brain. In this study, we investigated what effect gum-chewing has on the concentration of human. As experiment tasks, we conducted four tasks that concentration would involve. The sensibility analysis using fractal properties of EEG (electroencephalogram) was used to evaluate the concentration. The independent component analysis was also tried to remove the EMG (electromyogram) from the EEG. As a result, based on during no-chewing, the concentration rate increased about 38% during gum-chewing.
