A study on an estimation model of sound envelopment based on binaural information

Abstract(in English) This study examined a computational model to estimate the sense of sound envelopment. In our previous study, a model for estimating this sense was proposed but it did not involve the property of our hearing sense. In this study, we focused on that a listener perceives the sense of sound envelopment based on binaural information. Two types of models, i.e. a multiple linear regression based model and a neural network (NN) based model, were examined using the binaural information of Interaural Level differences (ILDs) and/or Interaural cross-correlation coefficients (IACCs) as inputs. The best estimation, in which the contribution ratio was 0.83, was obtained by the NN based model using ILDs and IACCs as inputs.
