Abstract(in English) In order to apply high-capacity terrestrial trunk-line in which exponentially growing internet traffic has been transmitted, low-loss and low-nonlinearity optical fibers have been proposed. In terrestrial optical cables, however, span-losses are largely degraded via enormous points of similar splicing because of relatively short length of the cable. In this paper, we will report on the low similar loss performance of Aeff-enlarged fiber with theoretical and experimental viewpoints. As a consequence, Aeff-enlarged pure-silica-core fiber will have high OSNR due to low transmission loss, low similar splicing loss and low nonlinearity even considering its low Raman-gain efficiency.
