Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Experimental investigations on anomalous absorption operations of mushroom metasurfaces are carried out. A high absorption with a TM oblique incident wave is observed with a prototype mushroom metasurface. The measured maximum absorption is 43.1 dB at 67.05 GHz with the incident angle of θ=10 deg. With measured angle dependencies of the anomalous absorption, it is shown that the anomalous absorption is originated by guided waves of the metasurface. In addition, time-domain measurements reveal that the reflected wave at the anomalous absorption are constituted by two distinct components of a direct reflected wave and a re-radiated wave from the guided wave excited by the incident wave. From these results, it can be concluded that the anomalous absorption is a phenomenon caused by a cancellation of those two waves.
