| Abstract(in English) | In large aperture and wideband phased array antennas, both phase shifter equipped for each element and true time delay equipped for each subarray are used to avoid squint. In such systems, both phase shifter calibration and true time delay calibration are required. In this paper, we focus on true time delay calibration, and propose an estimation method of delay difference between two subarrays by measurement through apace. In the method, signal is transmitted from two subarrays with an already-known delay difference. Cosine-shaped level is observed at a receiver when frequency is swept. Total delay difference is estimated from cycle of cosine-shaped received signal. Subtracting the already-known delay difference from total delay difference, delay error between subarray can be obtained. Our method is applicable to systems that wired measurement is difficult. Its example is systems that can not be overhauled. Additionally, phase measurement is not required in our method because delay is estimated from just level variation. We show experimental results. Delay difference could be estimated with error of 0.68λ or lower. |
