Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | It has been observed that Seoul Korean has various kinds of sentence-final (boundary) tones (June, 2000; Park, 2013). Nevertheless, little is known about the pragmatic functions each tone pattern. In this paper, we focus on an up-and-down tone pattern associated with the lengthening of sentence final syllable. We analyze its pragmatic function through a contrastive analysis between Japanese sentence-final particle 'yo'. |
