An Overview of Radio Access for LTE-Advanced

Abstract(in English) In Japan and several countries, LTE (Long Term Evolution) was commercially launched, and a lot of mobile network operators have announced their plans to deploy LTE. In order to accommodate expanding mobile based data traffic, ITU-R (International Telecommunication Union- Radiocommunication sector) developed the successor to IMT (International Mobile Telecommunication), IMT-Advanced. LTE-Advanced is one of IMT-Advanced Radio Interface Technologies. 3GPP completed to standardize Release 10 and Release 11 LTE, both of them are part of LTE-Advanced. This paper explains key technologies of these specifications and their performances.
