Abstract(in English) Recently, to improve spectral efficiency in satellite communication, combined satellite-terrestrial wireless communication has received interests in international wireless communication or broadcasting standards. Recent studies have shown that terrestrial communication techniques can be implemented in a satellite link. For example, SC-OFDM has been standardized in DVB-NGH for its robust performance in multipath environment, low peak power and excellent spectral efficiency. In addition, diversity-achieving MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) techniques can be implemented by using both satellite and terrestrial links. The purpose of this paper is to give an overview of the discussion related to the physical layer of the satellite component and satellite-terrestrial profile in various international standards.
