Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a novel enhanced poly-polarization multiplexing (EPPM) scheme to further increase the spectrum efficiency of a conventional PPM scheme. The EPPM scheme enhances flexibility of signal design compared to the PPM scheme by introducing generalized linear mapping onto two orthogonal polarization planes. By the computer simulations, we show that the proposed scheme (using an optimized signal set) can achieve better BER performance than the conventional schemes. Additionally, we also show the effect of time-interleaving for the proposed scheme with forward error correction (FEC).
