Abstract(in English) Aiming at the realization of "Super Hi-Vision" (SHV) satellite broadcasting, NHK is studying a scheme to make the transmission capacity and the required C/N better. A Multilevel Coded (MLC) Modulation using LDPC Code and Set Partitioning (SP) is one of realizable candidates for improving coding gain, but the performance evaluation of these combinations is not fully conducted under the satellite channel model. In this paper, we propose a transmission scheme using MLC Modulation with SP 8PSK and whose bit is encoded by LDPC and BCH concatenated code. In this scheme, we only apply BCH parity to LSB in a symbol of 8PSK, which has the largest Euclidean distance. On the other hand, the concatenation of LDPC parity and BCH parity, whose code rate is adjusted to show the best performance under AWGN channel, is applied to the rest of two bits. At first, we optimized the LDPC code-rate for MSB 2bits and report the computer simulated performance under the AWGN model. We also show the result under the satellite channel model using the 12GHz satellite transponder characteristics. Finally, we compare the performance of proposed model and the performance of ARIB STD-B44.
