Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) After the 2011 earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tohoku, we realized the importance of network services, like IP phone and e-mail, as a mean of communication. In such disaster sitation, network services are likely to be interrupted and the services have to be repaired and restarted promptly. It is desirable that novice administrators take part in network recovery operations, because expert administrators are not always available. In this paper, we propose a knowledge-based method to support failure isolation and recovery operations. We use the Active Information Resource based Network Management System (AIR-NMS) to enable even novice administrators to manage network services. Finally, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method through experiments using a prototype system.
