Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) From the viewpoint of the applications of disaster prevention and mitigation, fishery, environment and entertainment, water surface sensing of the sea, lake and river is an important technology. In this paper, we propose a real-time water surface sensing system using the wavelength-division-multiplexing technology and optical fiber technology that have been developed in the field of optical communication as one of the enabling technologies. Further, we have studied the configurations and performance of the system, and experimentally clarified the basic optical properties of the system.
