Study on Active Control of Microwave Reflection and Absorption Using Diodes

Abstract(in English) We propose a reflection control substrate, which is actively controlled reflector and absorber using diodes. Pin diodes have large resistance and capacitance without DC bias, while they have small resistance and inductance with DC bias at microwave band. Active reflection and absorption control substrate is designed with this result. In this report, the effects of periodic structure on the substrate were verified with calculation and equivalent circuit model and the substrate was designed. The prototype substrate can switch about 20dB absorption radar absorber and -0.1dB reflection coefficient reflector at 2GHz
