An Extraction Method of Equivalent-Circuit Parameters for Transversal Resonator Array Bandpass Filters Considering Loss Effects

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a novel technique for extracting all the equivalent-circuit parameters of a transversal resonator array band pass filter from simulated or measured frequency responses of a lossy physical filter model. The parameters are resonant frequencies and external Q factors of resonant modes, their unloaded Q factors, and a direct source/load coupling with its loss component. The formulation of the problem is based on the Cauchy method using a rational function expression of even- and odd-mode input admittances in a band pass frequency domain, not low pass-domain S-parameters used in conventional techniques. Thus, the proposed method can accurately extract unloaded Q factor of each resonant mode appearing in multi-mode filters, and also it can handle low unloaded Q factors of typically 50-200 in micro strip band pass filters. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified by the applications to multi-mode filters.
