Toward more flexible heterogeneous wireless networking

Abstract(in English) Heterogeneous wireless networking is getting more important and meaningful for next generation cellular and wireless LAN networking in which millimeter-wave will act an important role because it has 10 times or more wider system bandwidth compared to the current cellular and wireless LAN systems. For that purpose, we are developing U-plane/C-Plane splitting technique, remote radio head (RRH) based Cloud-Radio Access Network (C-RAN) and coordinated multipoint transmission/reception for millimeter wave and cellular or wireless LAN networking. In this presentation, we will discuss technical trend including future direction for the development of these techniques.
