Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to introduce a cognitive wireless communication system into a MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output)- OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system, the estimation of channel state information and a channel scenario is required. This paper proposes the channel scenario discrimination based on an azimuth spread and a K factor. In the proposed method, a correlation matrix of a MIMO channel matrix and a K factor are estimated from received pilot symbols and then an azimuth spread is estimated by using a relationship between the correlation matrix and the azimuth spread. The proposed channel scenario discrimination takes advantage of that the probability density functions of estimated mean of the azimuth spread and the K factor are Gaussian. Due to AWGN (Additive white Gaussian noise), the accuracy of channel scenario discrimination is degraded. Therefore, the proposed method uses a MIMO channel model with AWGN to estimate the parameters of the density functions. The discrimination accuracy of a channel scenario is thus improved.
