Abstract(in English) In this report, in order to realize automatic colorization of a monochrome image, a new colorization method is proposed. In this method, a reference color image including the subjects similar to those of the monochrome image should be prepared beforehand. Firstly, two palettes is created by local variance and vector median. Secondly, an input monochrome image adjusted to lightness is colored by local variance and vector median using two palettes. Finally, unnatural colorization results are modified by the cross bilateral filter and the lightness ratio-based color modification. In this study, the colorization experiments using various natural images are done.
