Selective Cache Information Diffusion in Content-Centric Networking

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a distributed mechanism for selectively disseminating cache registration information among neighbor routers in CCN (Content-Centric Networking) called SCID (Selective Cache Information Diffusion). In the literature, several diffusive content caching schemes, which enable neighbor CCN routers to virtually share their buffer caches (i.e., Content Stores) with others, have been proposed. One of major issues in those diffusive content caching schemes is non-negligible overhead of cache information diffusion. In SCID, a CCN router selectively disseminates cache information to a subset of its neighbor routers rather than to all of its neighbor routers. In SCID, a CCN router autonomously identifies a subset of neighbor CCN routers for cache information advertisement so as to minimize the network distance (i.e., the average communication delay from clients to the nearest caching CCN router or repository).Effectiveness of SCID is demonstrated through simulations.
