Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Software Defined Networking (SDN) has received a lot of attention because it can construct networks rapidly and reduce operation costs. However, the word, "SDN", doesn't mean a particular technology. It means the concept of constructing and operating networks using programmed software, so the word is not strictly defined. In this talk, I introduce the trials of SDN deployments in a backbone network and customer networks on Show Net in Interop Tokyo 2013, then I conclude some considerations regarding the possibility of SDN deployment.
