Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There are blind persons who can perceive obstacles by using the sense of hearing. One of the clues to perceive those obstacles is coloration. Several things such as ceiling and floor affect the sense of perceiving obstacles using coloration indoors. In this paper, we investigated the effects of reflected sound from the floor to an obstacle perception. In the experiments, we have done psychological experiments to classify the reflected sound from the floor in 1. a component that does not change by the position of an obstacle and 2. a component that varies depending on an obstacle. As a result, comparing these components to where there is no floor, the former tends to make perceive the obstacle-distance difficult, and the latter is easy to perceive it. In addition, reflected sound from the floor makes it easier to perceive whether an obstacle is there or not. Then, in order to examine whether recognizing directions is possible, subjects were asked to answer the direction of the wall built on the sides of the subjects. As a result, 5 out of 6 subjects could not perceive the direction of the wall, and one subject could perceive it by moving his head from side to side.
