Abstract(in English) | Precise alignment of individual cores is needed to connect multi-core fibers. We studied a simplified connecting method of multi-core fibers by using hexagonal-shaped multi-core fibers with hexagonal-hole ferrules. The simplified method is realized by fixing orientation of the hexagonal-hole ferrule to a connector key. We also studied fan-in and fan-out devices for multi-core fibers using the hexagonal-hole ferrule. |
