| Abstract(in English) | Owing to the rapid increase of Internet traffic, a breakthrough in the transmission capacity is needed in the near future. Space division multiplexing (SDM) employing multi-core fibers (MCF) have been proposed for a solution to the issue. Using the MCF as a transmission line, crosstalk between cores is an issue to be solved. We theoretically investigate the crosstalk of MCF with cores that have an α index profile and clarify its α dependence of crosstalk using the two core model. We clarify that electric field distribution has a great effect on the crosstalk. |
