Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, a mode division multiplexing (MDM) transmission with a few-mode fiber has been studied. We consider that realizing a larger capacity requires the increasing number of modes in few-mode fiber. Thus, we consider that a cutoff wavelength measurement is important in order to suppress a mode crosstalk. In this study, we measured the cutoff wavelength by using conventional measurement in three kinds of fibers. In addition, we report a mode selective excitation method for measuring cutoff wavelength.
